About Heather
Heather is a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist who received her Masters degree in Psychology with emphasis on clinical skills from Washburn University. Heather has worked in diverse settings within the mental health field and this has helped her to appreciate the intrinsic value of every person’s journey. Heather places high value on building a strong therapeutic alliance with clients and in creating a non-judgmental, safe haven that allows for each individual to address life’s challenges and to achieve personal growth.
Heather provides individual and couples therapy to adolescents and adults. She particularly enjoys working with adolescents dealing with transitions in life. She specializes in treatment of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress management, anger management, grief/loss, and trauma. Heather utilizes a variety of treatment techniques in her work, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Interpersonal Process, and Mindfulness strategies.
Accepted Insurance Plans
Heather accepts Medicaid (United and Sunflower) and Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans. She also works with clients on a self-pay basis and does offer sliding scale fees.
